Toolbars

The UI has multiple toolbars. If a toolbar is not visible, you can restore it by taking one of the following actions:

  • Right-click the toolbar area and click the toolbar you want to show.

  • Click the Settings toolbar Settings toolbar command to open the Preferences dialog, click TOOL BAR, and then click the toolbar you want to show.

In the Preferences dialog, you can also select which commands to include on each toolbar and specify that you want to show toolbar text with the toolbar commands. To learn more, see Toolbar Settings.

Common Toolbars

  • Debug. Executes stepping functions, based on a group, process, or thread.

  • Memory Debugging. Controls memory debugging and generates memory reports.

  • ReplayEngine. Records debugging and controls playing it backward.

    ReplayEngine toolbar

    The ReplayEngine toolbar appears only on the supported platform Linux x86-64.

GPU Toolbars

Two other sets of toolbars support CUDA and AMD ROCm debugging when running CUDA code or HIP code on a GPU. While you can display these at any time, they are responsive only when TotalView is debugging a CUDA or HIP program. To learn more, see NVIDIA CUDA Debugging Tutorial or AMD ROCm GPU Toolbars.
