New in TotalView 2021.1
TotalView 2021.1 includes the following primary new or updated features. For a complete change history for TotalView, MemoryScape and ReplayEngine, see the
TotalView Change Log on the
TotalView documentation page on the website.
macOS Big Sur Support
Run TotalView on macOS 11, Big Sur. Note that Big Sur doesn't ship copies of dynamic libraries, resulting in limited backtrace information for those libraries in TotalView.
Remote UI Enhancements
In the
Remote UI configuration, use an ssh key file and run shell commands prior to launching the debug server. Easily set up paths, modules and other environment settings before debugging.
Memory Debugging Leak Detection
Memory debugging has come to the new UI, long available in the classic UI. Enable memory debugging before running your program, then stop at any point to generate a
memory leak report.
TotalView FlexNet Embedded License Server Update
The FlexNet Embedded license server and client code in TotalView has been updated. If you use the FlexNet Embedded style license server, you should schedule a license server update for security and bug fix reasons. Testing has shown, however, that the previous version should work fine.
Platform Updates
• Operating systems: macOS 11 Big Sur
• Compilers: OpenMP Debug (OMPD) 5.x Support, Clang 12
