Debugging Memory Problems with MemoryScape : Chapter 2 Memory Tasks : Task 12: Saving and Restoring Memory State Information : Using Saved State Information

Using Saved State Information
You can use saved state information in two ways:
*
*
You can use saved state information in exactly the same way as state information for the currently executing program. That is, generate reports from the saved state information in exactly the same way as you would from an executing program.
MemoryScape saves a great deal of information in the saved state file. This means that you can compare the saved state information against an executing program or against other saved and recalled state information. It also lets you generate any report that you can generate from live state information. For example, you can display a Leak Source report based on the saved state information.
The sole difference between a live program and data from saved stated information is that MemoryScape displays a disk icon next to the file’s name.
