Debugging Memory Problems with MemoryScape : Chapter 2 Memory Tasks : Task 4: Controlling Program Execution : Controlling Program Execution from the Home | Summary Screen

Controlling Program Execution from the Home | Summary Screen
The controls on the Home | Summary screen let you start and halt execution of all your processes. (These controls are shown in Figure 52.) If you need additional controls or want to control processes separately, use the controls in the Manage Processes | Manage Processes and Files screen.
MemoryScape cannot generate information while a process is running. This means that MemoryScape automatically halts the program for you. You will later be asked if you want to resume execution.
While your program executes, MemoryScape graphically displays the amount of memory being used. Use this graph to inspect the pattern of memory use. If you see that the graph’s shape is different from one run to another, you may learn when to halt the program and inspect memory. Or, if memory use grows sharply and unexpectedly, you may want to stop the program and see why.
