TotalView Distribution
TotalView is available as a download, usually via a provided link. The download includes these files:
1. The TotalView distribution (a tar file or a graphical installer, depending on the platform)
2. The TotalView documentation distribution
3. The Release Notes for that particular release
4. An md5sum file, containing the md5sums of the distribution files for verification that they have been transferred without error.
Once the distribution has been unpacked, run the installer, which will confirm which files are to be installed as it executes.
NOTE: The macOS platform and the TotalView Student product use only the graphical installer. Linux x86-64 users may install via either the tarball or the graphical installer. All other platforms install via a tar ball.
